I've been playing with a camcorder since I was 16 and have since gained experience with the Z7, PD170P, Z1, V1, DVX100B, XL1, and AJ-D400. Filming several productions with Enterprise Screen Productions such as Black Watch and The Bacchae for the National Theatre of Scotland as well as a handfull of independant short films.
I have worked on a range of different productions. From independant short films, to master edits on broadcasted programmes with GUST. I have taught editing in Final Cut Pro to many people over the years and have a firm knowledge of all of the core elements of editing a sequence together. I also enjoy audio editing and composing.
My first project was developing the student television website gust.tv which needed a major makeover to become user friendly. I taught myself php, mySQL and java script during this project, having learnt html and css in one of my first year labs at Glasgow University. I have since built heatherwoodart.com and what you see here at deggen.com.
Over the past few years I have animated short films using stop-motion clay/paper and CGI. Whilst I learnt computer animation on Hash Inc's Animation: Master, I have very recently converted to the open source package Blender. My animated character "Floofy" won "Best Ident" for GUST at the National Student Television Association Awards in 2008.
